Dhaka: To an interrogation of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Bilkis Akter, BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain’s wife, admitted to siphoning off money to United Kingdom.
“She has admitted to having a joint account during our questioning,” said ACC Investigator Ahsan Ali.
ACC deputy director Ahsan Ali made the disclosure on Tuesday to journalists after quizzing her.
Earlier ACC authority said that they found an evidence against Mosharraf and his wife in siphoning off Tk 9.53 crore when he was health minister during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government.
Though Mosharraf denied money laundering but an investigation by London Metropolitan Police found that the money has been laundered to Lloyds TSB Bank in London in a joint account with his wife said ACC Investigator Ahsan Ali.
