Dhaka: The High Court granted a six-month bail to BNP acting secretary
general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed with Shahbagh
police station on Monday.
The case was filed after a person was killed in the capital`s Malibagh
during a demonstration on November 30, 2013.
The HC bench of Justice Borhan Uddin and Justice KM Kamrul Kader
passed the order after hearing.
Fakhrul’s lawyer Sanaullah Miah said that Fakhrul bailed in three
cases and now he can be freed from jail without any obstacle.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahariar Mahmud Adnan sent him to jail for
the three cases in Shahbagh thana case (case no 58(11)13), and Ramna thana
cases (42(12)13) and (1(12)13), on March 16.
