BGB seizes 28 kg gold, nabs 3 in Chakaria

Cox’s Bazar: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive on early Monday recovered four sacks-full gold ornaments weighing more than 27.765 kgs from a house in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar district and arrested three people in this connection.

BGB sector commander Cornel Farid Hasan confirmed the news.

Chakaria mapThe arrestees were identified as Nandaram Dhar, 55, and his two sons Palash Dhar, 25, and Sumon Dhar, 22.

A team of BGB personnel on a secret information conducted a drive and recovered the gold ornaments kept hidden at the house of local money lender Nandaram Dhar at Chiringa Hindupara village and arrested Nandaram along with his two sons around 4am.
