Dhaka (newsnextbd.com): “Scouts have a great role to play in building the nation into a more successful one,” said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while inaugurating the 9th Bangladesh Scout Jamburi in Mouchak, Gazipur on Saturday.
“The Mouchak scouting complex will be renovated into international standard,” the PM said adding that the scouting infrastructure will be developed district by district.
“Bangladesh has earned international appreciation in hosting the Asian Athletic Scouting Conference in 2012, which gave the 1.3 million scouts across the country more reasons to dedicate themselves in this great activity,” said Sheikh Hasina.
Admiring the scouts’ role in fighting the natural disasters the Premier said they have contributed a lot during countless natural calamities and saved lives and resources.
She stated that every educational institute should have at least two scouting teams. She requested all the instructors and scouts to be more concerned and responsible towards their scouting vows.
Mentioning that 1,52,667 females are included presently among the scouts, the PM wished more girls to join the scouts movement in the days to come.
