Dhaka- A Dhaka court on Thursday sent Tazreen Fashions Chairman Mahmuda Akhter Mita to jail pending trial in homicide charges over a fire that broke out in the factory in November 2012 that killed 112 workers.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Kazi Shahidul Islam rejected the bail petition and ordered sending her to Dhaka Central Jail after Mita surrendered before the court in the morning,
Earlier on March 20, a Dhaka Court cancelled the bail granted to Mahmuda Akhter and ordered her to surrender before Court in 15 days.
On November 24, 2012, at least 112 people were killed and 200 others injured in a destructive fire that raged through Tazreen Fashion Ltd at Nischintapur in Ashulia industrial district.
A case was filled in this connection in Ashulia Police Station, on November 25, 2012.
